Defra Magic mapping (also noted by the Chichester SHLAA IF08371 ‘Land South of Barn Wood’) confirms that the site is Ancient Woodland, and this is the most important factor rendering it unsuitable for housing development, irrespective of other planning considerations. Therefore this site was discounted and should not be allocated.
